Video Streaming

One of the fun things to do with your wireless network is to stream videos from a PC acting as the file server and say a laptop.

As well as files, you can stream DVD content or live video from a WebCam.

Streaming Video Files

This is simple to do in a home network since all you need to do is copy files on the host computer to a "Shared Video" folder in the "Shared Documents" folder.

You can set up a Short-Cut on your Desktop that opens up the Shared Video folder. Then the movie will be streamed to your Player* when clicked.

*You may have to install a plugin for the particular type of video format you are trying to play.

Ans: Hi John, the likely problem is bandwidth or there is a source of interference nearby such as a microwave. You could try reducing the distance over which you are streaming or reducing the video quality (compression settings).

Q: i have followed the steps to set up my home network, i have tried streaming video but it plays ok for the fist few seconds but then starts and stops the rest of the way. what could be causing this problem?
